We are Bruce and Sandy Hill living our dream in Victoria Texas. We started off our relationship farming the sands of west Texas. We raised cotton most of the span we were there but diversified somewhat by raising sheep and goats. We moved to Victoria in 1994, opened our business in town and I went into crop insurance. 

In 2008 we found a home with some acreage. After getting settled we finally got our fences in place and started our small goat operation.

We are in the beginning stage of our Kiko herd with Texas Star E13 purchased from Lake Fork Kikos in Alba, Texas. (For pedigree info see Our Sire page).

Raising goats in South Texas can be very challenging with the high risk of parasites, we went on the hunt for a solution to this very serious problem. Our herd was beginning to become resistant to our deworming meds. In late 2014 I was told of a breed that is naturally parasite resistant called Kiko. I passed it off for a short while until I came across Dr. Kraig Stemme, DVM and he was very excited to visit with us about the parasite resitance that naturally occurs in the Kiko breed. After a year of visiting with him as well as other research and getting more control of the parasites in our present herd we finally got to the point of being ready to bring a full blood Kiko buck into our operation.

We have learned the Kiko breed, given the correct bloodline, has strong qualities to live with higher parasite count or resist to parasites all together. 

We now have kids on the ground 

Starting this year we now have 50%, 75%, Purebred and New Zealand Kiko stock. 

We started out with average mixed breed commercial does in 2017 bred by Texas Star who is a Purebred Kiko buck. We now have several Purebred, 50%, along with a couple of 75% and 88% as well as 100% NZ does.
